How do you control IKEA Thread devices with Alexa and Apple Home at the same time?

Yes — Matter's multi-admin feature lets one device belong to several ecosystems at once, so your IKEA Thread devices (KAJPLATS bulbs, GRILLPLATS plugs, BILRESA switches and similar) can appear in Apple Home and Alexa simultaneously without a DIRIGERA hub. You need one Thread border router on the network (a HomePod mini works) and one Matter controller per ecosystem. Pair the device with the first ecosystem, then use that ecosystem's "pairing mode" option to generate a code for the second. If a device refuses to share, update its firmware first — that is the most common blocker.

Best path for Rhythm

Matter multi-admin is also how these devices reach Rhythm: pair the device with the LightHub directly (or share it to the LightHub from Apple Home the same way as sharing to Alexa below). Then let the voice assistants do what they're good at — on/off by voice — while Rhythm runs the room's daily brightness and warmth curve locally.
