This guide answers a smart-lighting or Matter lighting question and translates
it into a practical checklist for Rhythm users. If you are pairing compatible
Matter lights, the Rhythm Lighting LightHub can commission them from the
Rhythm app: choose Add Device, select Matter, then scan the
QR code or paste the MT: payload / 11-digit setup code. The
LightHub performs the commissioning handshake and keeps the device on your
Matter fabric.
Short answer
If Matter devices are detected by the phone but not by the vendor hub app, suspect local network discovery before blaming the bulb. Matter commissioning depends on local traffic such as mDNS, IPv6, Bluetooth handoff, and LAN-to-Wi-Fi reachability. A new router can break that path even when older paired devices still work.
Network checks
- Put the phone, DIRIGERA, and any commissioning hub on the same non-guest LAN.
- Disable client isolation, guest isolation, and “smart security” features that block LAN discovery.
- Keep IPv6 enabled locally; Matter and Thread workflows rely heavily on IPv6.
- Restart the router, DIRIGERA, and phone after changing Wi-Fi modes.
- Test with one bulb near the hub before attempting the full room.
Pairing with Rhythm
For compatible Matter lighting, Rhythm LightHub also needs clean local discovery. If a router blocks multicast or isolates Wi-Fi from Ethernet, fix that foundation first; then commission the light from the Rhythm app with the saved Matter setup code.
Pairing with Rhythm
For Matter lights and bulbs, the LightHub is the bridge between the app and the device during pairing. Keep the LightHub, phone, and device on the same local network, keep Bluetooth enabled when the device requires BLE commissioning, and make sure the setup code has not expired or already been used by another fabric. Once paired, the LightHub can control the device locally as part of your Rhythm setup.
