Before buying a bridge for a couple of Kajplats bulbs, decide which controller should own setup. Matter bulbs can sometimes pair directly with a compatible Google controller, but an IKEA bridge may still be useful for firmware updates, IKEA-specific accessories, or a simpler vendor support path.

Check the controller first

  1. Confirm your Google Home device actually supports Matter and, if needed, Thread for the bulbs you are buying.
  2. Save the Matter setup codes before installing the bulbs.
  3. If pairing directly to Google, factory-reset the bulb and add it from the Google Home app.
  4. If using DIRIGERA, add the bulbs there first, update firmware, then share to other ecosystems only if the app supports the flow you need.

Connect the finished room to Rhythm

Once the bulbs are controllable through a compatible Matter or hub path, bring them into Rhythm as a room. The important decision is not owning every possible hub; it is choosing one reliable commissioning path and keeping the daily lighting behavior consistent.
