Store Matter codes before installing lights

Matter setup codes are easy to lose because some lights print them on a box insert instead of the device. Before mounting a ceiling light, closing a fixture, or recycling packaging, save the code somewhere private and searchable.

Create a light inventory

1. Photograph the Matter QR code and manual code.
2. Record the room, fixture, model, and where the bulb or lamp is installed.
3. Store the record in your password manager, Home Assistant notes, or another local inventory.

Use it with Rhythm

When you add a compatible Matter light through Rhythm LightHub, scan the saved code or enter the manual setup code. If the light ever needs a reset or a new controller, the saved code keeps the recovery path simple.
